Best Management Protocols (BMPs)
A major goal of our organization is to improve beach management in ecologically sensitive areas. To that end we have targeted the specific areas for development of essential protocols, or BMPs. This work is ongoing. All reviews are developed with shared information from people with experience in management and science and all are peer reviewed before acceptance. These are intended to be living documents subject to changes as our knowledge increases.
Please check back for updates. If you are interested in development or review of protocols please contact us.
Note: The following BMP's are advisory in nature and meant to be a starting point for developing protocols, not the final word. The general information has been reviewed by beach managers and scientists and is considered acceptable practice. Each organization must develop appropriate guidelines according to its own specific needs and conditions.
